Cancer Story

While "Average Guy Hits the Road" has evolved largely into a running blog, my most loyal readers know that this effort started out in 2009 in response to the changes going on in my family as a result of my wife Moira's battle with breast cancer.  I will still periodically talk about cancer, about my overall quest to improve myself as a dad, husband, and man through my running and a series of other efforts, and about the long-term effects of cancer on my family.

However, the cancer is well behind us in a lot of ways now and we have been blessed to have moved on with our lives to where running is more than a way to get in shape for me...I am now an ultramarthoner and it is a way of life for me.

BUT...I didn't want the cancer legacy of "Average Guy" to get lost in the shuffle, so here is a list of direct links to the main series of posts that put us on the map.  Please, please read up and call me or email me at any time...we are involved in the local cancer community and want to provide our experience and our help to anyone who may ever need us.
