Barefoot | Natural Running & Products

When I talk about barefoot running, am I literally talking about running without shoes?  Yes, a lot of the time I am. When I refer to barefoot shoes, am I having fun with what is clearly a ridiculous oxymoron? Well, yes, but what I am really talking about are barefoot-style shoes.  That is, shoes that allow you to largely run as nature intended.  Maybe there are very few shoes that can honestly do this, but for the most part if a shoe has a series of characteristics (wide toebox, low heel height, flexible, etc.) that permit a midfoot/forefoot strike under your center of gravity.  I will expand this section as time goes by with a variety of resources and product reviews that support the evolving barefoot running (or natural running, or minimalist running) movement.

For reference, here is a little post about my own approach to using these kinds of shoes as tools:

Barefoot Shoes: Right for every run?
